1. I did my portrait piece of myself. I chose myself because I wanted to challenge my self by doing a self portrait and using food for my medium.
2. I used skittles for my medium because I was inspired by the portrait made of skittles Mrs.Sudkamp showed us. 3. First I traced my picture onto the cardboard and then I used a app to figure out what colors to put where based on the shadows and highlights. After that I used markers to color it so I knew where to put the skittles. Then I started to glue the skittles and then I put a background behind it to make it pop more. 4. I find the colors and the result successful because you can tell what it is and the colors make it look more realistic. I would change my medium or put it on a smaller peice because it took a long time to complete and people kept eating it which messed up how much I needed.

1. Write The art critisim process is how an artist critiques their work or someone else's work. This process is done by first the artist describing the art work and not using any opinions when describing the work. The second step in the critic processs is the artist analyzing the artwork and pointing out the different elements the artist uses and how it makes the art work look better. The third step for the critique process is to interpreting the artwork and describe what it means to you and how you relate to it. The fourth and final steel of the critique process is judging the artwork and giving your opinion and telling the artist suggests on what could make the peice better or what you liked and didn't like about the peice of art. 2. Critique In the artwork I see bright yellow lemons swaying on a tree in the wind, that are ready to be picked. I also see the use of lines and the positive background space used in the peice. You can feel and see the movement of the lemons in the lemon tree. The mood of this peice is very bright and positive and uplifting, it makes you think about the simple things in life and how great things as little as a lemon on a tree can be. I think the artwork is successful because the artist used the space very well, the only thing I would change is i would add more lemon leaves to make it seem more like a lemon tree. I think the artist was creative when coming up with this idea by portraying the wind in the background to really make the piece come to life. 1.What is art? Art doesn't just have one meaning, art has a different meaning to every person you ask. To me art is a way for an artist to express themselves and usually when people think of art they think of painting or drawing but art is way more than that. Art is photography, painting, drawing, singing, dancing, cooking and so much more. In my opinion people make art everyday doing what they love weather its choreographing a dance or drawing a portrait. Art comes in many different forms and anyone can express them self through art. 10. Reguardless of weather a project was successful or not, describe the one where you learned, grew, or developed the most from? Please explain. The project that I learned the most from was the multi media peice because we had to use five layers that related to our prompt so it made me think outside of the box and portray my prompt. My prompt was magic so I tried to think of what comes to mind when I hear the word magic. After I came yo with an idea I put down blue tissue paper and burned the edges then, when we worked in groups the people in my group gave me lots of good ideas that made me think even more about my peice and how I could make it more creative. They suggested i added cards and a magician hat and wand so I did and i was very happy with the outcome of my piece. I was very satisfied with my final product and I think it really helped me grow and think more outside of the box with the projects I did after this one. 18. Medium: Which medium did you most enjoy working with and why? Which medium did you not use but wish you had explored?
I enjoyed working with the water color the most because I felt it was easier to work with and if you wanted to make the shade lighter you could add more water and if you wanted to make it darker you could add more paint. I also like how smoothly it went onto the paper and how well my water color peice turned out. I didn't really do much work with the charcoal and I wish I did more because even though it was very messy I liked how the different shades looked and just overall how the charcoal worked on paper. I also think the charcol made the lighter parts of the peice stand out more because you focused more on those. |
