This art was created by three students from National Taiwan University of Arts by the names of Hung I-chen, Guo Yi-hui, and Cheng Yu-ti. Hung,Guo and Cheng were inspired to make this piece because of all the pollution in Taiwan. These three students made this art piece by taking samples of polluted water from over 100 different places in Taiwan, then freezing the samples and then preserving them in polyester resin. Pollution in Taiwan has been an issue for a while, but itkeeps getting worse and worse. When testing the water samples, Hung, Guo and Cheng found that at least 90% of the sample contained plastic. The point of this art piece is to spread awareness about the polluted water in Taiwan so people all over the world can help get the pollution to go down lots. Hung, Guo and Cheng's artwork spread the word about water pollution in Taiwan all over the world and all over the internet. This art is inspiring to me because I think it is very important that we all know how lucky we are to have clean drinking water especially in comparison to other places such as Taiwan. This artwork really helps to show everything in the water in Taiwan and how you can see the dirt and plastic and other materials that are not safe to consume. The popsicle shape of the art draws me in because at first you just assume that it is a bunch of different Popsicles, but then the longer you look at it and the more you read about it you notice more such as, the bottle caps and different pieces of pollution in the water that the people in Taiwan drink.
