1. I did my portrait piece of myself. I chose myself because I wanted to challenge my self by doing a self portrait and using food for my medium.
2. I used skittles for my medium because I was inspired by the portrait made of skittles Mrs.Sudkamp showed us. 3. First I traced my picture onto the cardboard and then I used a app to figure out what colors to put where based on the shadows and highlights. After that I used markers to color it so I knew where to put the skittles. Then I started to glue the skittles and then I put a background behind it to make it pop more. 4. I find the colors and the result successful because you can tell what it is and the colors make it look more realistic. I would change my medium or put it on a smaller peice because it took a long time to complete and people kept eating it which messed up how much I needed.

1. Write The art critisim process is how an artist critiques their work or someone else's work. This process is done by first the artist describing the art work and not using any opinions when describing the work. The second step in the critic processs is the artist analyzing the artwork and pointing out the different elements the artist uses and how it makes the art work look better. The third step for the critique process is to interpreting the artwork and describe what it means to you and how you relate to it. The fourth and final steel of the critique process is judging the artwork and giving your opinion and telling the artist suggests on what could make the peice better or what you liked and didn't like about the peice of art. 2. Critique In the artwork I see bright yellow lemons swaying on a tree in the wind, that are ready to be picked. I also see the use of lines and the positive background space used in the peice. You can feel and see the movement of the lemons in the lemon tree. The mood of this peice is very bright and positive and uplifting, it makes you think about the simple things in life and how great things as little as a lemon on a tree can be. I think the artwork is successful because the artist used the space very well, the only thing I would change is i would add more lemon leaves to make it seem more like a lemon tree. I think the artist was creative when coming up with this idea by portraying the wind in the background to really make the piece come to life. 1.What is art? Art doesn't just have one meaning, art has a different meaning to every person you ask. To me art is a way for an artist to express themselves and usually when people think of art they think of painting or drawing but art is way more than that. Art is photography, painting, drawing, singing, dancing, cooking and so much more. In my opinion people make art everyday doing what they love weather its choreographing a dance or drawing a portrait. Art comes in many different forms and anyone can express them self through art. 10. Reguardless of weather a project was successful or not, describe the one where you learned, grew, or developed the most from? Please explain. The project that I learned the most from was the multi media peice because we had to use five layers that related to our prompt so it made me think outside of the box and portray my prompt. My prompt was magic so I tried to think of what comes to mind when I hear the word magic. After I came yo with an idea I put down blue tissue paper and burned the edges then, when we worked in groups the people in my group gave me lots of good ideas that made me think even more about my peice and how I could make it more creative. They suggested i added cards and a magician hat and wand so I did and i was very happy with the outcome of my piece. I was very satisfied with my final product and I think it really helped me grow and think more outside of the box with the projects I did after this one. 18. Medium: Which medium did you most enjoy working with and why? Which medium did you not use but wish you had explored?
I enjoyed working with the water color the most because I felt it was easier to work with and if you wanted to make the shade lighter you could add more water and if you wanted to make it darker you could add more paint. I also like how smoothly it went onto the paper and how well my water color peice turned out. I didn't really do much work with the charcoal and I wish I did more because even though it was very messy I liked how the different shades looked and just overall how the charcoal worked on paper. I also think the charcol made the lighter parts of the peice stand out more because you focused more on those. I used five different mediums. First I picked out blue and sparkley tissue paper and glued it on there with the gel medium. Then for the second layer I burned the edges with a lighter. For layer 3 I made stickers out of playing cards. After the third layer I glued on cut playing cards. And for the fifth and final layer I drew a magic wand and a magician hat. My word was magic and I portrayed magic by using playing cards and using colors that came to mind when I think of magic.
My peice is used to put stuff in and my design makes it used for that because it has a lid and an inside to put stuff in. I came up with my idea because I want to put it in my room and put jewelry in it. First I rolled out my clay then measured 6 even sides and waited for them to dry a little bit. After they dried I scored and slipped them together and then fired it. After my peice fired I painted it with glaze and then paint and then added glitter.
My piece shows the theme of line by having lines of wind in the background and on the lemon stem the lemon My piece is successful by showing up the lines I want up and adding lines to the background. If I could add or fix anything I would probably add some leaves and more texture. I would also try different colors to see how it looks.
1)I recreated Olaf from Frozen
2)My designs differs from other designers because I made Olaf like a real snowman that someone would have built outside. 3)First I sketched out my drawing and then I painted it with water color from lightest to darkest and then I went back with white acrylic and painted the foam and snow. I used water color to paint everything besides the snow and foam. My advice to someone using the same medium would be to test out the colors before you paint them on your final. The place that is represented in my art is the Cayman Islands. This is important to me because I've gone there with my best friend three years in a row and this year we won't be able to go because we are in traditional now. The most challenging part of my painting was making the right colors. I feel most successful with the palm trees because you can tell what it is. First I did the purple background then I added the yellow and pink and then I did the purple clouds and the last step i painted the palm trees and then added detail.
I picked colored pencils and chalk pastel for my mediums because I thought the colored pencils would be really good for the color of the books and make them pop. And i thought for the blue sky background the chalk pastel would blend well. To make my art work a two in one peice I did butterflies and books because whenever I think of books for some reason I think they look like insects with wings such as butterflies. In the beginning of this project I drew the butterfly Books and colored them and then after I finished that I used the chalk pastel to make the background then I added clouds and then I cut out the butterfly Books with an exactoknife and glued them onto the chalk pastel background.
To make brown you have to mix complementary colors together and then add white to make it lighter or black to make it darker.
i learned that matching colors is a lot harder than you would think. I also learned that even added the tiniest bit of white can make a huge difference
